PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of transmitting both side image data smoothly on real time in a facsimile apparatus employing three-path both side scanning system. SOLUTION: A facsimile apparatus 1 transmits an image data of a first page, and then, determines whether the transmitted image data are appropriate to an even-numbered page of 3-path both side scanning (at a step S4). When the transmitted image data are not appropriate to the even-numbered page, that is, immediately after transmitting the image data of one side, the facsimile apparatus 1 sends an MPS signal (at a step S5), and then, transmits image data of the other side (at a step S1). When the transmitted image data are appropriate to the even-numbered page, that is, immediately after transmitting the image data of the other side, the facsimile apparatus 1 sends an EOM signal (at a step S6), and then, shifts to a mode change sequence (at a step S7). During execution of the mode change sequence, a copy is switched back and ejected to an ejection part. Then, an image data of one side of the next page are read out and transmitted (at the step S1).
