PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for displaying a correct color, by performing proper clamp processing, even if a decoded video signal is a non-standard signal. SOLUTION: A horizontal synchronous signal is separated from the decoded video signal, and a period of one cycle of the horizontal synchronous signal or a black level period is detected, and whether or not its horizontal synchronous signal is a normal signal along a regulation is determined. When the horizontal synchronous signal is the normal signal, a clamp pulse of a pulse width of a predetermined value is generated, and when the signal is non-standard, the clamp processing is performed by generating the clamp pulse having a pulse width of the length in the period of one cycle or the black level period.
