PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Faraday rotation mirror which can attain an improvement in mass productivity, and an improvement in yield, while reducing the return loss. SOLUTION: The Faraday rotation mirror is composed of a light incidence and emission section, a lens, garnet constituting a Faraday rotator, a magnet, and a mirror, and the reflecting surface of the mirror is formed into a concave surface shape, and the end of the light incidence and emission section is formed to incline. Furthermore, the center of the radius of curvature of the reflecting surface and the principal point of the lens are aligned to each other. Then, the optical surface on one surface of the garnet is provided with an index-matching element having the same refractive index as the refractive index of the garnet. and the optical surface of the index-matching element which does not come into contact with the garnet is formed to incline with respect to the optical surface of the garnet so that the shape of the index-matching element is formed into a wedge shape.
