PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of preventing deterioration of imaging performance by suppressing variation in the position of an imaging mirror. SOLUTION: In the image reader where an optical path is formed by consecutive reflection by a plurality of imaging mirrors 201 to 204, at least one of the plurality of imaging mirrors 201 to 204 is butted against an imaging mirror holding member 205 so that ends 201c to 204c on the off-axial reflection surfaces 201a to 204a sides of the imaging mirrors 201 to 204 and ends 201b to 204b orthogonal to the reflection surfaces 201a to 204a may receive gravity acting on the imaging mirrors 201 to 204, and then the imaging mirrors 201 to 204 are positioned and held by the imaging mirror holding member 205. Thus, the variation in the positions of the imaging mirrors 201 to 204 is suppressed and the deterioration of the imaging performance is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
