PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire grid for electromagnetic wave polarization/analysis being easy to manufacture, being low in cost, and having high accuracy, since it is free from problems such as metal wire breakage or irregularity of spacing caused by parallel stretching long thin metal wire on a frame body, or problems such as multiple reflection or interference of a substrate or parent material caused by forming a thin-line pattern by means of etching using a substrate or parent material. SOLUTION: Stainless steel wires 11 are used as warps and silk yarn 12 as wefts. Cloth is obtained by weaving with them crossed one by one alternately. This wire grid 100 is formed by mounting the cloth on the frame body 20. Pitches of the stainless steel wires 11 are determined according to wavelengths on which polarization and analysis are performed. Besides, the silk yarn 12 is removed as the need arises.
