PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forcibly air-cooled internal combustion engine capable of fitting a plug part of a head cover gasket in a processing concave part in a mating surface of a cylinder head without being disturbed by an annular elastic member, thereby easily fitting a cylinder head cover to the cylinder head. SOLUTION: In the forcibly air-cooled internal combustion engine, the processing concave part 33v is formed in the mating surface 33s of the cylinder head 33, the plug part 47p to be fitted in the processing concave part 33v is formed integrally with the head cover gasket 47, and a shroud 68 is provided with the annular elastic member 95 interposed between a head penetrating opening portion 68p and an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder head 33. The annular elastic member 95 is arranged to extend around the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder head 33 in the vicinity of the mating surface 33s thereof. The annular elastic member 95 has a thin-walled portion 95lc with a notched recess part 95h on the side facing the processing concave part 33v, by cutting the inner peripheral surface of a portion of the annular elastic member 95 corresponding to the processing concave part 33v.
