A stapler has an impact cushioning clincher buffer (60) shown in Fig. 23. The clincher buffer (60) is mounted on a contact section between a clincher guide section and a clincher arm (1) and on a contact section between a clincher and the clincher arm (1). The clincher buffer (60) is mounted on the head of the clincher arm (1) with which the clincher guide section and the clincher come into contact. The stapler further has an impact cushioning handle bumper, and the handle bumper is mounted on a contact section between the driver arm and the handle. The handle bumper is mounted on the head of the handle with which the driver arm comes into contact.
