<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of preventing or relaxing the reduction of a luminous intensity due to a temperature rise. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting device has a light-emitting diode and a nonstoichiometric luminous substance being arranged around the light-emitting diode, absorbing at least a part of a light emitted from the light-emitting diode and emitting the light having a wavelength different from the absorbed light.
