PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rotate the display section smoothly without rubbing a finger on a portable electronic device having a rotating display section. SOLUTION: The portable electronic device has a body 1 having an operation key, a display section 5, a hinge 3 for connecting the folding body 1 and display section 5 to open/close freely, a section for making the display section 5 rotatable for the body 1 in a state with the display section 5 opened for the body 1, and a rotation assist portion 53 provided near one end of the display section 5 and being pushed with a finger to rotate the display section 5.
