PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate using in a device for controlling optical properties capable of conducting positively functions such as glare protection, glare control, heat shielding, shielding, displaying, etc. and also capable of changing optical properties by a light without using a physical shielding means nor electrode (particularly transparent electrode). SOLUTION: The laminate comprises an optical active layer 2A, 2B containing an active system capable of changing optical properties by an excitation ray and returning the situation of a change caused by the exciting ray to the initial situation by a returning ray, and a light guide layer 1A, 1B having a returning-ray permeability in an inner direction of the layer, and preferably in particular, at least one side of the layer groups consisting of the light guide layer and the optical active layer contains a shielding layer which can shield at least a part of the excitation ray.
