PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative housing in which a decorative effect for producing irregular reflection or interference colors is caused by a plurality of minute projections formed on a housing substrate, from resin or the like, and also to provide a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: A material S11 to be subjected to film formation is supplied through a plurality of openings a1-a3 which are provided in a mask 2 arranged on a housing substrate 1, and a film forming process is carried out for forming a plurality of insular thin films 31 on the housing substrate. After the film forming of the plurality of insular thin films, each time mask arrangement is moved in the planar direction of the housing substrate, the film forming process is implemented, for forming, on the housing substrate, a plurality of projections 4 from a plurality of laminated bodies of the insular thin film.
