摘要 |
An optical transmission device which suppresses optical surge to improve the quality of optical transmission. A disconnection detector section (11a) outputs a disconnection detection signal upon detecting disconnection of electric signal, and stops output of the disconnection detection signal upon detecting recovery of disconnection. A dummy signal generator section (11b) generates a dummy signal upon detection of disconnection. An electric/photo converter section (12) performs electric/photo conversion of the output from an electric signal processor section (11) to output the optical signal. The dummy signal generator section (11b) outputs a dummy signal during non-input period of time while disconnection is arising, and the optical dummy signal subject to electric/photo conversion is inserted into an optical amplifier medium (13a). An excited light emission control section (13b) reduces the excited light power to decrease the optical power output of the optical dummy signal upon acknowledging received disconnection detection signal, while increases the excited light power and controls emission of the excited light to be recovered to the optical power output of the optical signal amplified by the optical amplifier medium (13a) prior to disconnection upon acknowledging unreceived disconnection detection signal. |
