#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves switching data, signals, instructions and a power supply from and/or to a measuring transducer (2) e.g. rotary encoder, on a connection (6) e.g. CAT5 cable, with reduced number of wires. A switching device (5) is connected between a controller (4) and the transducer. The connection between the controller and/or switching device and transducer is bidirectionally operated. Control data, voltage and special program data for the transducer are transmitted from the controller.
