#CMT# #/CMT# The vehicle (10) has a body (12) with a centrically arranged center carrier (16) within a rear region (14). A rear flap (18) is linked to the carrier for opening and/or closing a luggage compartment (34). The flap is rotatable around a longitudinal axis pointing in a driving direction (22). The flap forms a part of a motor vehicle roof of the body and/or a part of a side wall of the body in a closed condition. The flap includes a rear flap pane (38) arranged in the side wall of the body for forming a window. The pane is arranged adjacent to a side window (30) located in a side door (26). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Motor vehicle e.g. passenger vehicle such as car (from drawing). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The rear flap is linked to the center carrier of the body, and is opened in a lateral direction, so that the flap is not necessary to load the luggage compartment from the rear and the flap can open a part of the motor vehicle body pointing against the driving direction, thus loading and unloading the luggage compartment both from the rear and from the side without impairing the size of the luggage compartment. The vehicle eliminates the utilization of C-column to reduce the weight of the vehicle, thus reducing the fuel consumption. The rear flap is rotatable around the longitudinal axis pointing in the driving direction, so that lagging in the driving direction and/or against the driving direction is avoided.
