<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve viewing performance ahead of a vehicle by increasing light volumes of both sides of a light distribution pattern without installing more semiconductor light emitting devices. <P>SOLUTION: By forming side reflecting surfaces 20 along both side edges of the vehicle width direction of a reflector 10 having a reflecting surface 11 formed with the curved surface of a parabolic column shape, direct light oriented in a side direction from a semiconductor light-emitting device 12 and reflecting light reflected on the reflecting surface 11 and oriented in a side direction are captured and reflected by the side reflecting surfaces 20. Then, the light volume can be increased by superposing light distribution patterns P<SB>2</SB>and P<SB>3</SB>of side reflecting light on both sides of the vehicle width direction of a fundamental light distribution pattern P<SB>1</SB>for a low beam formed by the reflector 10, and thereby, the viewing performance ahead of a vehicle can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
