PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a peptide having cytotoxicity inhibitory activity. SOLUTION: The method for screening a material having cytotoxicity inhibitory activity includes evaluation of a degree of cytotoxicity inhibition by using a sudden death phenomenon of cells when a material possibly having cytotoxicity inhibitory activity is added to a cell culture system using a serum free medium loaded with albumin or a fatty acid, wherein the degree of cytotoxicity inhibition is evaluated using glutathione peroxidase activity as an index.
