PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakage detection system for a cable protection chain, capable of detecting breakage of a cable protection chain in simple structure. SOLUTION: The breakage detection system 1 for a cable protection chain 2 comprises component units 3 connected in chain, forming a cable insertion space inside. It is provided with an optical fiber cable 5 fixed to the component units 3 along the cable protection chain 2, a detection means 6 to detect the light quantity in the optical fiber cable 5, and a determination means 7 to determine that the cable protection chain 2 when the light quantity is less than specified quantity.
