PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve enhancement of productivity, reduction in cost, reduction in weight, and prevention of intake leakage during a fully closed position, in an intake control device equipped with a substantially ellipse-shaped throttle valve and a throttle body. SOLUTION: An intake control device includes a throttle body 100 defining an intake air passage 100a in substantially elliptical cross-section, and a throttle valve 150 formed in substantially elliptical contour to open and close the intake air passage. The throttle body 100 includes a main body 110 defining a curved inner wall region 111a' that can bring a curved contour region 151 of the throttle valve into a close contact therewith, and a combination body 120 defining a straight line inner wall region 122b' that can bring a straight line contour region 152 of the throttle valve into a close contact therewith, as well as combined to the main body. Thus, the circular shape processing of the curved inner wall region and the processing (or molding) of the straight line inner wall can be conducted separately, thereby the processing becomes simple, manufacturing cost decreases, productivity is improved, dimensional accuracy is improved, leakage in full close is prevented, and the amount of intake is precisely controlled.
