A washing-machine comprises a container 17 having walls of foldable or bellows-like construction and a rigid base supported on a platform 19 that can be rocked about shaft 24 by a connecting-rod 29 attached eccentrically to pulley 28 driven by motor 27. The upper, open end of the container is attached to rigid member 30 by a clip 32 that secures it around an external groove formed in the downwardly-bent portion 31 of the member 30. Telescoping members 33 allow the container to be extended to the operative position shown, in which it is maintained by screws 34, or to be collapsed to an inoperative position. The open central part of the base is provided with an opening covered by drainage piece 22 and connected to a pipe 25 for draining or filling the container with washing liquid. The container may be combined, in known manner, with a heater and thermostat.</p> |
