<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique with which power to be consumed in a printer can be further suppressed when the printer is in a stand-by state. <P>SOLUTION: In an interface circuit 4 in an image forming apparatus 1 for executing printing in accordance with a command from a host apparatus 20 connected through a network, a transmitting/receiving means 22 transmits/receives signals to/from the host apparatus 20 through the network. When recognizing the reception of a printing command by the transmitting/receiving means 22 during the stop of power supply 7 from a power supply means 3, a starting means 23 provides the printing command to a print control means 5 and provides a starting signal to the power supply means 3. During the stop of the power supply 7 from the power supply means 3, a stand-by power supply means 21 supplies power supplies 29, 30 provided from the host apparatus 20 through the network to the transmitting/receiving meas 22 and the starting means 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
