PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push button switch capable of smoothly incorporating a movable member of a push button case provided with a cam portion of an alternate mechanism, into a fixed member of a switch case without the increase of the number of parts and man-hour for assembly. SOLUTION: In the push button switch, provided are: a lock pin support portion supporting a proximal end portion of a lock pin of the alternate mechanism is provided; and a tilting support portion supporting a distal end portion of the lock pin supported on the lock pin support such that the tilting support portion biases away from an operating member in which the cam portion is provided, before the switch case is connected to the push button case. When the switch case is engaged to the cam portion of the alternate mechanism and the push button case, the distal end portion of the lock pin supported on the tilting support portion of the fixed member is detached from the tilting support portion so as to be guided through a guide channel formed on an outer circumference of the operating member in correlative motion with a push button mechanism and to be clamped into a groove of the cam portion.
