PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit that ensures excellent display quality and an extended lifetime. SOLUTION: A display unit which has an active area composed of many pixels comprises an organic insulation film 114 arranged on a support substrate, a barrier film 130 that is arranged to cover a top surface at least corresponding to an active area 102 of the organic insulation film 114 and is composed of an inorganic material, a first electrode 60 arranged for at pixel on the barrier film 130, a bulkhead 70 arranged to cover the peripheral edge of the first electrode 60 on the barrier film 130 for separating each pixel, an organic active layer 62 arranged on the first electrode 60, and a second electrode 64 that is arranged on the organic active layer 62 and is shared by many pixels in common.
