PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium supply device and a medium supply method for improving separability between media when supplying a medium. SOLUTION: This medium supply device has a medium storage means for stacking and storing a plurality of media, an air blowing means for blowing wind from a side surface of the stacked media and a supply means for successively supplying the stacked media. The supply means includes a sending means driven so as to feed at least the media and a return means driven so as to return the media in the inverse direction of the feeding direction, and also has a tip regulating means for regulating the tip of the media in the same position or on the downstream side more than that in the medium carrying direction to the sending means and the return means.
