An image capture apparatus comprises an image capture unit, a storage unit configured to store a pattern and an associated synthesizing-object image corresponding to a shape of the pattern, a display unit configured to display a capture image captured by the image capture unit and to superpose the pattern on the capture image, a first detector configured to detect a first control signal when the display unit displays the capture image, a reading unit configured to read from the storage unit the synthesizing-object image when the first detector detects the first signal, and a first display controller configured to control the display unit to superpose the synthesizing-object image on an area where the pattern is superposed.
