The invention relates to a dye of formula (1) A-B-X. In said formula A represents an organic chromophore, B is an electrophilic reactive group, X is a polyether polyol group of formula (Xa) or (Xb), where n is a number from 1 to 100 and m is a number from 0 to 100 and where the group X is covalently bonded to B by means of an ether bond. The dye is used to colour cleaning agents such as fabric softeners or detergents, in addition to inks, coloured pencils and marker pens and can be easily washed off skin and clothing.
