HYDROGEN GAS GENERATING MEMBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROGEN GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen gas generating member safely promoting hydrogen gas generation reaction by bringing an aluminum alloy subject to rolling treatment or powdering treatment into contact with water.

SOLUTION: This hydrogen gas generating member 20 has a structure where aluminum is finely dispersed in a metallic matrix and generates hydrogen gas by making water into contact therewith. In an apparatus 10 for producing hydrogen equipped with a fixing member 14 for mounting the hydrogen gas generating member 20, water 15 stored inside is brought into contact with the hydrogen gas generating member 20 and the hydrogen gas generated from the surface thereof is fed to outside through a hydrogen gas feed pipe 12 to be stored in a storage tank not shown in the figure.
