PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide light wherein the appearance of a display panel is improved and guiding performance is further improved as required for the guide light by preventing the irregular brightness of the display panel. SOLUTION: Cold cathode lamps (light sources) 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d are arranged opposite one another on four end faces of a rectangular light guide plate 5 which is arranged on the rear face side of the rectangular display panel 3, respectively.
