PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication technology for simplifying operations for starting encrypted communication between communication devices, without impairing security at replacement and at addition of the communication devices. SOLUTION: A compound machine MFP2 creates a public key and a secret key, according to the instruction input from a user, stores the secret key into itself and stores the public key into a USB memory U1. A compound machine MFP1 acquires the public key stored in the USB memory U1, acquires association information stored in itself, encrypts the association information by using the public key and stores the encrypted association information in the USB memory U1. The compound machine MFP2 acquires the associated information stored in the USB memory U1, decrypts the association information using the secret key stored in itself and stores the decrypted association information in itself.
