PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens unit having high resolution, by reducing the influence due to the backlash generated between a lens made of silicone resin and a barrel, or the like. SOLUTION: The lens unit 2 has a substantially disk shape and includes first and second lenses 4 and 6 which are made of a silicone resin which is satisfactory in transmission of visible light and the barrel 2a, which has a cylindrical shape lens-housing section 2e for housing the first and second lenses 4 and 6 in predetermined positions and is made of a material whose linear expansion coefficient is smaller than that of the silicone resin, of which the first and second lenses 4 and 6 are made. Clearances 7a and 7b are provided between the outer edges of the first and second lenses 4 and 6 and the inner circumferential wall of the lens-housing section 2e provided by the barrel 2a and a projecting portion 2d and a recessed portion 4a, which are engaged with each other when the first lens 4 is housed in the lens-housing section 2e of the barrel 2a for aligning the first lens 4 with the barrel 2a are formed.
