A slider (121) has a head (122) mounted thereon for recording or reproducing information in and from a disc (104), and floats from the surface of the rotating disc (104). The slider is provided with positive pressure sections (124a, 125a, 128a) which generate a floating force with an air flow formed by the rotating disc (104) on a floating surface (123) which faces the disc (104). The slider (121) is also provided with a first identifying section (160) on the floating surface (123). The first identifying section has the same height as that of each of the positive pressure sections (124a, 125a, 128a) and identifies the gravity center position of the positive pressure applied from the positive pressure sections on the floating surface (123). |
