摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce frequency of failures in decoding in low-density parity-check (LDPC) encoding and decoding. <P>SOLUTION: The device for erasure correction coding 120 includes: a padding unit 121 to attach padding packets to an information packet sequence; an interleave unit 122 to rearrange the padding packets and the information packets; and an erasure correction coding unit 123 to apply erasure correction coding to a queue of the packets after processing the interleave. The interleave unit 122 rearranges the padding packets and the information packets on the basis of variable nodes which make up a minimum stopping set of the check matrix that defines a low-density parity-check code. It becomes feasible to reduce a probability for the failure in an erasure correction to come from the minimum stopping set, by providing a rearrangement pattern of the interleave unit 122 to adapt to such a rearrangement pattern as to avoid any failure in the erasure correction, which may come from the minimum stopping set of the LDPC check matrix. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
