<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a detection error occurs when a deviation happens in detection timing of each phase of three-phase current. <P>SOLUTION: A power converting device comprises a power converter for converting direct current to three-phase alternative current or three-phase alternative current to direct current, a means for detecting the AC side current of the power converter, a means for providing an AC side current command of the power converter, and a current control unit for calculating an AC side voltage command of the power converter so that the current command coincides with the detected current value, wherein the power converter is controlled by pulse width modulation on the basis of the voltage command.
