<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio device capable of operating at a plurality of frequency bands with one antenna, while preventing device failure or malfunction caused by static electricity entering the antenna from the surroundings of a liquid crystal display, if the liquid crystal display is used for a display portion. <P>SOLUTION: The portable radio device includes an annular conductor 102 for enclosing around a display portion 101 and a reactance 107 having frequency characteristics for shutting down a first frequency band. The conductor 102 operates as a loop antenna at the first frequency band when it is grounded through the reactance 107, but it operates as an inverse F antenna at the second frequency band when it is grounded directly without through the reactance 107. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
