PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer capacitor which has high capacity and high insulation reliability, and a capacitor mounting substrate. SOLUTION: End surfaces of internal electrodes 3 and 4 are exposed on one side surface of a laminate 1, exposed end surfaces of first and second internal electrodes 3 and 4 and first and second terminal electrodes 7 and 8 are connected directly to each other, and an electrode insulating layer 13 is formed on a side surface of the laminate 1 positioned between the first terminal electrode 7 and second terminal electrode 8, so distances between the one end surface of the laminate 1 and the internal electrodes 3 and 4 can be set to be very short or the end surfaces of the internal electrodes 3 and 4 can be exposed to maximize formation area of the internal electrodes 3 and 4 and to increase capacity, and insulation between the laminate and the outside can be improved by an electrode insulating layer 13 to improve insulation reliability.
