PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a microwire and a nanowire composed of a metal-containing compound having a desired composition. SOLUTION: The method of producing a microparticle wire which is composed of connected fine particles includes following steps (1)-(3): (1) preparing a gas of an organometallic compound and a gas of an organic compound, which can be photo-excited corresponding to the need, and/or a gas of reactive organic compound; (2) introducing the gas prepared in the step (1) into a reaction vessel; and (3) irradiating the gas introduced to the reaction vessel in the step (2) with a light of the wavelength which is absorbed by at least one of the organometallic compound and the photo-excitable organic compound.
