PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To balance a liquid level of a photosetting composition to be coated, in an optical shaping method by which cured layers are successively laminated to form a cubic article. SOLUTION: In an optical shaping method, a photosetting composition is selectively irradiated with light to form a cured layer, with the photosetting composition again supplied onto the cured layer; the photosetting composition applied while spread by a recoater is irradiated with light to further form the cured layer; and, by repeating this process, the cubic article in which the cured layers are integrally laminated is shaped. A plurality of projected articles are laminated and formed so that at least a part of the projected articles are arranged in the region in which a locus of a circle is formed around the cubic article, wherein the locus of the circle is drawn by moving a circle having a diameter of 600μm in contact with the contour of the cubic article.
