PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is not possible to efficiently produce any new source program with high quality from an old source program. SOLUTION: A method for producing a program includes: analyzing and outputting the number of times of appearance of one or more first instruction pattern information in an old source program; converting the description place of the old source program corresponding to the first instruction pattern information whose number of times of appearance is analyzed as the prescribed number of times or more by associating it with second instruction pattern information; outputting a new source program; and accepting input for changing the description place of the old source program to the new source program by the manual operation of a user with respect to the description place of the old source program corresponding to the first instruction pattern information whose number of times of appearance is analyzed as less than the prescribed number of times.
