PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the heat dissipation capability of a package case for an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The package case for the electrooptical device is one for housing the electrooptical device having a pixel area where a plurality of pixels are arranged, and the package case includes: a frame (610) having an opening portion defined corresponding to the pixel area and enclosing the electrooptical device from its peripheral edge side; and a heat dissipation member (700) having (i) a rod or plate type main body portion (710) disposed leaving a space with the frame and (ii) a support portion (720) fixed to the frame to support the main body portion and dissipating heat of the frame.
