PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens barrel capable of driving a diaphragm with a simple configuration without complicating the shape of surrounding members even in a zooming optical system having the variable diaphragm moving in the optical axis direction accompanying the variable power. SOLUTION: The lens barrel comprises a variable power optical system of performing variable power by moving a prescribed lens group among a plurality of lens groups and a diaphragm member moving in the optical axis direction on the variable power, wherein the diaphragm member is configured such that cam guide pins implanted on a frame member which retains the diaphragm member are guided by a cam member and a straight advance guide member and move in the optical axis direction, and, in at least one of the cam guide pins, a through-hole is formed and a member for operating the diaphragm member is penetrated through the through-hole.
