<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moving picture with less image quality deterioration even without performing super resolution processing for each frame by generating a key frame and an image processing frame in the process of improving resolution of an input image. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device is provided with: a super resolution processing circuit 5, an interpolation enlargement processing circuit 6, and a display data switching circuit 7. The super resolution processing circuit 5 generates a super resolution image by compensating deviation in the movement of image contents in images of a plurality of frames, calculating the image of interpolation pixels by wide band interpolation and weighted sum on the basis of phase difference between sampling phases of pixels in each frame, and interpolating the image in the frame by using the interpolation pixels. The interpolation enlargement processing circuit 6 generates an interpolation enlargement image by calculating the image of interpolation pixels from the image of peripheral pixels in the image of a single frame, and interpolating the image of the frame by using the image of the interpolation pixels.
