<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible the real-time easy measurement of a subject's spectral luminous efficiency with a simple constitution in an arbitrary measurement environment without any burden on him or her in a system and method for measuring spectral luminous efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The system 1 for measuring spectral luminous efficiency uses flicker photometry. A subject M adjusts the parameters of his spectral luminous efficiency to minimize flickers in his stimulated visual field 21. A light quantity setter 6 resets the quantity of test light 2a so that it can be equal to the quantity of reference light 2b, based on spectral information from a spectroscope 4 and the spectral luminous efficiency with its functional form determined. By the determination of the functional form of spectral luminous efficiency through the adjustment of parameters by the subject M, as well as the setting of the quantity of test light 2a by the light quantity setter 6, wide-area brightness matching will be possible over his or her entire visible light range with regard to the composite light consisting of test light 2a and reference light 2b.
