<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head which stably flies on a recording medium by smoothly changing its attitude and stably guide light without affected by its own attitude change for reliable recording and reproducing. <P>SOLUTION: The head 2 recording or reproducing information on a recording medium rotating in a fixed direction by using a light spot S formed by focusing an input light flux L, is arranged so as to fly at a predetermined distance from the surface of the recording medium, and has the main head body 20 having a light spot forming means 21 on the surface 24a facing the recording medium, a light guide 4 inserted and secured to the head body through a light guide holder 23a to guide the light flux to the light spot forming means, a fluid W filled between the light guide and the light guide holder, and a fluid holding mechanism 23b provided adjacent to the light guide holder to regulate the moving fluid and to hold it between the light guide and the light guide holder.
