<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing data quantity of various data. <P>SOLUTION: This data compression apparatus stores, in a storage device, a data group including a plurality of data including an attribute value for each of one or more attributes. The data compression apparatus divides each data into any of one or more intensive groups including one or more data, and calculates a representative value of the attribute value of each attribute in each intensive group. Next, the data compression apparatus calculates the error of the representative value of each attribute in intensive grouping. The data compression apparatus determines whether the calculated error is within a predetermined range, outputs the representative value of each attribute from an output device when the determination result indicates that it is within the predetermined range, and performs different intensive grouping when the determination result indicates that it is not within the predetermined range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
