PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an examination method and an examination drug for detecting, at a high rate, a cancer patient and a patient having a high degree of risk of cancer. SOLUTION: It has been found that there is a remarkable difference in distribution of isozyme of a sugar-chain sulfated enzyme GlcNAc-6-sulfuric acid group transferase between non-cancerous tissues and cancerous or adenoma tissues, and it has been made clear that its application makes it possible to specifically detect cancer and adenoma (excluding colon cancer and colon adenoma) by detecting a GlcNAc-6-sulfated sugar chain group in a fixed range from the patient's tissue and fecal matter specimen.
