PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control device for peripheral monitoring which allows a driver to intuitively easily grasp situations such as a relative position of an own vehicle and an obstacle and a relative speed even if an application is different, and also to provide an image display control system. SOLUTION: In a step 100, the display control device determines the traveling speed of the own vehicle from a signal obtained from a vehicle speed sensor 9. That is, the display control device determines whether the speed of the own vehicle is low, middle, or high. When the speed is determined to be low, the display control device displays an image on a display 21 with a display range for the low speed in a step 110. When the speed is determined to be middle, the display control device displays the image on the display 21 with a display range (middle range) for the middle speed at in a step 120. When the speed is determined to be high, the display control device displays the image on the display 21 with a display range (maximum range) for the high speed in a step 130.
