PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic filter having excellent water repellency and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In a ceramic filter made of a ceramic, fine needle-shaped protrusions are formed on the surface of the substrate constituting the filter. More specifically, the protrusions are formed on the surface of the substrate in a nearly vertical direction; the ceramic is SiC; and the protrusions are composed of carbon nanotubes.
