PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral separation membrane element suppressing concentration polarization without increasing pressure loss on a feed side. SOLUTION: The spiral separation membrane element is constituted so that a single or multiple separation membranes, feed side flow passage materials and permeating side flow passage materials are wound around a porous hollow central pipe, wherein the feed side flow passage material includes a net formed of multiple cell-like crossing yarns 1, 2, and protrusions 3 provided at least part of the multiple yarns 1, 2, and the protrusion 3 is protruded into a unit cell 4 surrounded by the yarns 1, 2.
