<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unnecessary relaxation oscillation while increasing an averaged light quantity between recording pulses to obtain reflected light quantity which is necessary for tracking and focus controlling so as to solve the problem when adopting a recording method using relaxation oscillation. <P>SOLUTION: A laser modulation control circuit which applies a driving current and a recording pulse to a laser diode includes a recording pulse output unit for outputting recording pulses to generate relaxation oscillation as recording pulses, a bias current output unit for outputting a constant bias current between the recording pulses, and a high-frequency overlap unit for overlapping the high-frequency signal on the constant bias current between the recording pulses by the recording current, and performs control to have times at which current values at a start edge and an end edge of the high-frequency signal are consistent with a value of the constant bias current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
