MANUFACTURING METHOD OF MEDIUM TO BE RECORDED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a medium to be recorded which enables a porous ink accepting layer to have high ink absorbency and transparency, and can prevent the generation of cracks and the separation of the porous ink accepting layer.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the medium to be recorded includes: the surface treating process for coating borate aqueous solution on a bottom layer; and the process for forming the porous ink accepting layer by coating with a liquid including pigments and polyvinyl alcohol on the bottom layer having its surface coated with the borate aqueous solution as being wet and then drying. The coating amount after being dried of the borate aqueous solution is set to be ≥1 mass% and ≤2 mass% of the total mass of the porous ink accepting layer based on borate. The polyvinyl alcohol content in the porous ink accepting layer is set to be ≥7 pts. by mass and ≤13 pts. by mass based on 100 pts. by mass of the pigment in the porous ink accepting layer.
