PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately manage audio output from another apparatus, with operations being performed in a single apparatus in an audio signal transmitting apparatus, and to provide an audio signal receiving apparatus, an audio signal transmission system, an audio signal transmission method, and a program. SOLUTION: There is provided an audio signal transmitting apparatus 10 which can communicate with a plurality of external connection apparatuses 20 and transmits audio signals to the external connection apparatuses 20. The audio signal transmitting apparatus 10 includes an external output unit 155 which outputs the audio signal to the outside, an audio signal transmitting unit 159 which transmits the audio signal to the external connection apparatus 20 which is in a communication enabled state, and an audio output control unit 163 which, when headphone information representing that a headphone function that outputs the audio signal through the headphones is valid is received from at least one of the external connection apparatuses 20 which receive the audio signals, performs control to stop an output by the external output unit 155.
